Since summer 2025, the CIT program has been divided into five distinct categories:

CIT Junior Program, CIT Senior Program, CIT Junior Aquatic Program, CIT Senior Aquatic Program, and the CIT Program for Teens with Special Needs.

CIT JUNIOR PROGRAM

The CIT Junior Program is designed for youth aged 13 to 16 (Grades 7 to 9), with 0 to 2 summer of experience as an CIT. It aims to provide adolescents with a safe and supportive environment in which to explore the responsibilities of camp counselors and general leadership concepts in the workplace.

With a strong focus on leadership development, the program emphasizes:

• Effective communication

• Training in camp animation

• Activity planning training

• Child development and well-being

• Leadership opportunities

• Health and safety protocols

• Community involvement

Juniors work with various age groups. Participants spend half of their day in structured training sessions that include team-building activities, workshops, and presentations. The remaining time is spent in supervised camp groups, where they observe, assist, and learn the fundamentals of being a camp counselor.

At the end of the session, CITs who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion. Throughout the program, CITs are supported by their CIT Leaders who evaluate their progress and provide constructive feedback.

Participants may register for more than one session. During their second session, CITs receive additional hands-on experience to further develop and apply the theoretical skills acquired during their first session.
